I am always amazed when I see such fine and delicate porcelain that has come through decades without any visible harm. Such is the case with this beautiful porcelain cruet produced by Porcelain Factory Victoria Altrohlau from 1904-1918. The style is unmistakable Art Nouveau with the simple flowers outlined in gilt. The porcelain is so thin you can see through it! And the form is elegant with a fancy rim that has embossed leaves or petals. Bears a green underglaze back stamp indicating its origin in Austria. There is also a difficult to read hand painted decorator's mark. Condition is excellent. The decoration and gilding is beautiful on a very soft pastel green ground.
