Asclepias purpurascens, commonly known as Purple Milkweed, is a native herbaceous perennial plant sometimes identified as Common Milkweed. They are so similar both having pale purple to deep purple blooms. But I used my wonderful PlantNet app that has identified this as Purple through all its growing stages. So I feel confident it is purple, but be advised of the possibility it is Syriaca not Purpurescens. Thrives in well-drained soils and full sun. It supports so many lives in the garden, but the one that has me the most excited is the Monarch Butterfly as it provides a habitat for egg-laying. This plant is characterized by its large clusters of pink to purple blooms that attract various pollinators. I sprinkled some seeds last Fall resulting in a nice patch that now boasts tall 3-4' stalks. The plants are at various stages/heights so I have a few that are still low enough to ship. That is why they are limited. At some point I will need to de-list if they get too high or too far along in the bloom process. You will receive one healthy plant, bareroot, in moist medium. I cannot ship to PO Boxes.
