Exquisite Antique Oil Painting Signed "C. Walgreen" and dated 1927. This beauty comes out of an Illinois estate. Charles Walgreen was the founder of Walgreen Drugs. The first store was opened in 1901 in Chicago. I do not know if there is any connection, but I'm guessing there probably is. But the painting stands on its own as a floral composition in muted autumnal colors. Also outstanding is the Fumed Tiger Oak Frame with notched inner border. The frame measures 21" x 17" with a view measuring 15" x 11". Condition is excellent.
