Sugar Snap Pea (pisum sativum) is a somewhat modern (since the 70's) iteration of an antique sugar pea. The walls are thick and juicy. So versatile in recipes and methods of preparation, including eating raw. If you do, you may not make it into the house with any left - they are that delicious! A cool weather crop, you will want to inoculate the seeds for germination success and sow in very early Spring in soil that has been "sweetened" with limestone or wood ashes as well as manure, ideally the Fall before. Grows 4'-6' high, so you will want to provide a trellis when you are planting. 58 Days. 50 Seeds.
