ITALIAN OREGANO (Origanum vulgare hirtum), also known as Greek Oregano, is the "true" Oregano we most often associate with pizza and other Italian dishes. The name is derived from an ancient Greek word meaning "joy of the mountains." A uniquely flavored savory, with strong warm and woody flavor, is typically used in Mediterranean cuisine - and especially associated with pizza, though you are missing out if you limit your culinary use to that. It is also beloved by bees, at least in my garden where, when it flowers, it is literally covered with them!!! Perennial, vigorous and hardy in zones 4-9. You will get one live bareroot plant shipped in moist medium. I cannot ship to PO Boxes.
Please note: If for any reason you believe your plant arrives in distressed condition, or damaged, please take a picture and send to me immediately. I will either send you another plant or refund, but I can do nothing if you do not notify me of the plant's condition with photo on arrival. Also, some of the pictures may be of mature or blooming plants. You are getting what is represented in the description, not a mature blooming plant.
