Beautiful antique 19th Century oil on canvas framed in newer (but still vintage) carved gilded wooded frame (My guess is that the original frame was one of those gesso gilt frames that tend to crumble at a certain point). The beautiful painting is signed lower left "Friend" which I have not been able to definitely identify. The painting shows obvious skill, and has wonderful coloration and form. It displays well, despite a few small areas of breach of the canvas as shown. The canvas measures 24" x 20" and the carved gilded wooden frame measures 29.5" x 25.5". The frame is newer, but not brand new, i.e. may have been added at some point in the 20th C. This painting comes from an old estate and I'm proud to offer. It is beautiful. I am an experienced (20 years) shipping of antique and newer paintings. Haven't lost one yet as I take tremendous care in packaging, but please note this may take 2-3 days from purchase to properly package.
