Gift Zinnia Brilliant Red ORGANIC Non-GMO Heirloom Seeds 2026

GIFT ZINNIA (Zinnia elegans) is so named because the original American seed came as a gift during the 1991 Moscow coup from breeders at the Vavilov Institute - its origins important because this zinnia will survive frost and even light freezing temps and keep blooming. What a treat to have my bed of bright red zinnias still producing for the Thanksgiving table! I always say, a garden without zinnias is like a day without sunshine. The brilliant 3"-4" red doubles and singles (with an occasional orange popping in) grow 3' high. A stunning display all summer, if you keep them well-picked. Butterflies, bees and hummingbirds just love these - especially if you refresh the flower heads with a gentle water shower so they can drink. I grew these with four different variety tomatoes and all four of those tomatoes produced earlier and in greater numbers than any other tomatoes in my garden.
