PINGTUNG LONG EGGPLANT (Solanum melongena) is an extremely beautiful heirloom from Taiwan (its name is its town of origin). Dark lavender fruits have an incredible shine that radiates off the skin. Slender fruits up to 12" and slightly more than 1" in diameter are perfect for skewering and grilling. Brush with olive oil & garlic and serve with sour cream & chile & basil dipping sauce! Yum! Hardy, vigorous plants are disease resistant. Usually produces 20 or more fruits per plant. Remember that eggplants generally take longer to germinate than tomatoes and require bottom heat. 65-75 days from transplant. 10 seeds.
